Tecoma Myotherapy

Tecoma MyotherapyMyotherapy is a branch of manual therapy that involves the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, which can cause pain and impair normal movement.

Musculoskeletal pain can originate from many structures within the body, including muscle, joint, ligament, tendon, nerve and bone, which may occur due to an acute injury, an ongoing chronic condition, overuse, degeneration or poor posture.

Myotherapists conduct a thorough history and physical assessment to establish the cause of the pain complaint and use a range of treatment techniques to decrease pain and improve mobility. Treatment techniques include trigger point release, soft and deep tissue massage, joint mobilisation, myofascial dry needling, cupping, transcutaneous electronic nerve stimulation (TENS), muscle energy techniques (MET), exercise prescription and patient education.
